As 2025 comes to an end, I am sharing my own photos from the past year of the St. Croix River and the waters that flow into it. These images are offered in gratitude for the river, its tributaries, and the readers and supporters of St. Croix 360. – Greg

The annual cycle circles back to a close, and a new beginning. In a matter of weeks, the world goes from light and color to darkness and cold. And still the water flows.

This is the season of silence and solitude, scarcity and struggle. People and wildlife continue to find ways to survive.

In the universe, there are no beginnings and no ends. Everything keeps spinning, nothing ever stops. One season leads to the next in the eternal sequence. Calendars come and go, time is a human concept, the present moment is a mirror that reflects the past into the future.
