Celebrate 50 years of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway this summer with St. Croix Valley Interpretive Association Partners.

Summer is officially here and the St. Croix Valley Interpretive Association partners have many outdoor activities for people of all ages to enjoy this summer from fishing to paddling to nature hikes. Get outside and recreate in the Riverway this summer and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway with us.

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act. From this Act, the St. Croix and the Namekagon rivers became the country’s first wild and scenic river national park—the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. The St. Croix River Association (SCRA) is the official partner for the Riverway.

Story of 360

One of the biggest challenges facing the St. Croix River is harmful blooms of algae in in the lower river, due to excess nutrients in runoff. The goal is to restore the river by reducing phosphorus levels to 360 tons/year. Learn more »
