Minnesota’s annual charitable giving one-day extravaganza, dubbed “Give to the Max Day” is Thursday, November 15. The St. Croix River Association is a great option to support for anyone who loves the river.

First-time givers at a minimum $25 level become members of the River Association. As a bonus, donors will receive a $10 gift certificate to 45 Degrees, the outdoor clothing and gear shop in downtown Stillwater.

The St. Croix River Association is a key partner and sponsor of St. Croix 360 and is doing lots of important work, including:

  • Organizing the popular annual paddle trips in the watershed
  • Working to prevent the spread of invasive Asian carp
  • Researching and supporting efforts to improve water quality and reduce harmful runoff into the river
  • Ensuring sand and gravel mines along the river do not harm the water or visitor experiences
  • And lots more.

To get started, visit the St. Croix River Association’s page on GiveMN, beginning at midnight on Thursday, November 15. Donors have 24 hours to click and give.

Update: SCRA raised $2,210 — and 53% of the donors were new to the organization!

Story of 360

One of the biggest challenges facing the St. Croix River is harmful blooms of algae in in the lower river, due to excess nutrients in runoff. The goal is to restore the river by reducing phosphorus levels to 360 tons/year. Learn more »
