Hwy 243 Osceola Bridge construction is underway. MnDOT and WisDOT are working together to replace the bridge and preserve this important connection between Minnesota and Wisconsin.

You’re invited to an in-person public meeting on Mon, Sept. 21 to learn what to expect over the next year, including when the bridge will close to traffic. There will be no formal presentation, so feel free to stop by any time during the meeting. Project staff will be on hand to discuss construction plans, review project layouts and answer questions.

We encourage you to attend the public meeting if you live, work or travel in the area. When the bridge is closed, you will be detoured to the Hwy 8 river crossing in Taylors Falls to travel between Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Osceola landing north boat launch closure begins Sept. 14 

Starting at 8 a.m. Mon, Sept. 14, crews will close the north boat launch and parking lot at the Osceola Landing until late summer 2028 for bridge construction and facility improvements. The south boat launch and parking lot will remain accessible during construction

We are partnering with WisDOT to replace the Hwy 243 Osceola Bridge over the St. Croix River to maintain a reliable connection between Washington and Chisago counties in Minnesota and the Village of Osceola in Polk County, Wisconsin. The current bridge, built in 1953, will be replaced with a new bridge in the same location. The project will also include a new pedestrian and bicycle path linking Osceola Landing to the Village of Osceola.
