They traveled from Malibu to Stillwater, from the TV to the reality of a river, from a mansion to the St. Croix.

During a recent visit to Minnesota, this summer’s Bachelorette on the ABC series, Becca Kufrin, brought her new fiancé for a fun and romantic weekend on and along the St. Croix River. It was all part of her attempt to convince him to settle in the state, as they plan their future together.

Kufrin grew up in Prior Lake. She was originally a contestant on the related reality show The Bachelor, which aired early this year. She was chosen to marry that season’s star, but he broke it off and resumed dating another contestant.

She bounced back as Bachelorette, and picked Garrett Yrigoyen about a month ago. Yrigoyen is from Las Vegas originally.

They both have popular Instagram accounts, which they used to share photos of the trip.

Based on the posts, Becca and Garrett enjoyed a gondola ride with Gondola Romantica, picked apples and drank cider at Aamodt’s Apple Farm, and ate and drank at downtown restaurants. They stayed at Stillwater’s newest boutique hotel, Lora.

Yrigoyen wrote on Instagram: “Becca brought me to the birthplace of MN and I can see why it was here. Stillwater was incredible from the food, views, shops, people, and things to do outside. Thank you for the amazing time.”

Now, Becca and Garrett’s latest Instagram posts show that Kufrin has taken Yrigoyen to the Stillwater area so that he can see a different side of Minnesota. As those familiar with the state know, Stillwater is a city east of Minneapolis and St. Paul that has a small-town feel and charm that may resonate well with Garrett. Becca has noted that her fiance isn’t necessarily a big city guy, and Stillwater may well be more his cup of tea.

On Monday, Becca posted several photos to Instagram showing her in Stillwater with Garrett. She said that she’s still working hard to convince him to move there already, and it looks like her plan might be on the verge of working. The Bachelorette stars hit all of the hot spots in Stillwater, including the Brick & Bourbon Craft Bar & Eatery, the Lora Hotel, and the Velveteen speakeasy — and they even took a gondola ride down the St. Croix River.

Garrett shared some photos from the excursion via his Instagram page too, noting that they also hit Aamodt’s Apple Farm and tried out some Thor’s Hard Cider. Yrigoyen noted that Stillwater is the birthplace of Minnesota, and while this trip may well have been a promotional freebie for the Bachelorette pair, it genuinely looked like they had a blast.

Stillwater’s visitor bureau Discover Stillwater had invited the couple via social media to come check out the river town. It sounds like they might be back.
