An informal talk from 2012 Artist at Pine Needles Ryan Rodgers
Wednesday, October 10 — 7 p.m.
Marine Village Hall — in cooperation with the Marine Community Library

Since moving to the St. Croix River Valley in 2010, Ryan Rodgers has spent nearly 300 days in the watershed, paddling, walking, skiing and lugging an “obnoxiously chunky” digital camera.

His talk will explore the character of the river through anecdotes, slides and perspectives gathered from slow and repeated movement through the watershed in pursuit of images.

Ryan’s photographs have appeared in regional and national publications. He is currently finishing his master of fine arts degree in writing at Hamline University. He lives near the river in Osceola with his wife and baby daughter.

See Ryan’s recent post about a “day-in-the-life” of a Pine Needles artist-in-residence.

Am looking forward to the talk tomorrow evening, and encourage anyone with even the slightest interest to come on down to the ole Marine Hall.
