Conference Will Cover Adding Wisconsin Portion to St. Croix Scenic Byway

Meeting on April 27th will present plans for pursuing Scenic Byway status for a route in Wisconsin to mirror existing one in Minnesota.

St. Croix Scenic Byway logoThe topic for the fourth annual Earth Day Conference, Sunday, April 27, 2014 sponsored by the St. Croix Scenic Coalition and the St. Croix Scenic Byway from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the St. Croix Falls Public Library, 230 S. Washington St., St. Croix Falls, WI is to develop one St. Croix Scenic Byway in two states.

Speakers from the National Park Service, local government, and St. Croix Valley Foundation will discuss the many benefits of the scenic byway program for local businesses, historic and cultural organizations, and conservation efforts and also the process for obtaining State of Wisconsin designation of a Wisconsin St. Croix Scenic Byway.

Interactive maps will be on display for attendees to share their ideas about the byway route in Wisconsin, and their knowledge of the historical, cultural and environmental significance of locations along the route.

This conference is part of a series of public meetings on scenic river conservation themes at the St. Croix Conservation Study Center at the St. Croix Falls Public Library.
