North Woods and Waters of the St. Croix Heritage Area (NWW) is excited to announce that tickets are on sale now for its Go With the Flow Fundraiser on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

The public are invited to join NWW board members and friends aboard the Taylors Falls Princess paddle wheeler for a three-hour scenic cruise through the St. Croix River Dalles.

Guests will enjoy hearty appetizers and a cash bar; an onboard silent auction; and the music and stories of Frank “Anakwad” Montano, acclaimed flutist and revered elder from the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Frank “Anakwad” Montano

Anakwad (Cloud) of the Eagle clan is a world-renowned Native American flutist and contemporary Native American musician. He continues to preserve Miskwaabekong (Red Cliff) culture through traditional dance, flute, storytelling, and teaching.

“We are thrilled that Anakwad will be able to share his exceptional musical talents and storytelling with our attendees,” says NWW Board Member Bill Neuman. “He’s not only an engaging entertainer; his work complements our mission of preserving and celebrating the history and culture of our region.”

Proceeds from Go With the Flow will benefit NWW’s programs including Live! From North Woods & Waters, Heritage Highlights, and Clio, a free virtual guide to historic sites, museums and trails in the St. Croix River watershed.
