One dies, another injured in accident at Interstate Park

Reported rock fall has tragic outcome for two young men.

On March 25 at approximately 4:09 PM, Chisago County Dispatch received a call of a rock fall with unknown injuries. This occurred at 249 Traprock Street, Lower Landing area of Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls.

Upon Chisago County Sheriff’s Deputy’s arrival, they advised there were two victims. One was conscious, the other unconscious and not breathing.

One male party was treated and transported to St. Croix Falls Hospital in Wisconsin. He was then flown to Regions Hospital Trauma Center. Lifesaving efforts were performed on the other male who was later pronounced deceased.

The deceased victim is a 23-year-old male from Minneapolis, the other a 31-year-old male from Savage. Names will not be released at this time pending family notification.
