The Polk County Area Association of Lakes and Rivers hosted an in-depth panel discussion about confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs) during its annual meeting this week. St. Croix 360 is pleased to share the above recording of this informative event.

The discussion featured three presenters: Lisa Doerr, a Laketown Township farmer and activist, Andy Marshall, a Trade Lake property-owner and attorney, and Polk County zoning administrator Jason Kjeseth. It was emceed by PCALR president Karen Engelbretson.

Polk County neighbors the St. Croix River across from Chisago and Pine Counties in Minnesota. It is home to the Apple and Trade Rivers, and other streams that flow to the St. Croix.

The presentations were very informative and will be the basis for future St. Croix 360 coverage of this important issue.
