Award-winning storyteller Jill Johnson lives in the Pacific Northwest, but grew up in Marine on St. Croix. Although she hasn’t lived in this area for 50 years, tales of her memories here, as well as some of the notable history of the area, are part of her storytelling repertoire.

On this night, Jill returns for the first time to share her stories, revisiting not only her own memories, but some of the important and often overlooked history of the region.

“I haven’t lived near the St Croix and the little town of Marine for over fifty years,” Johnson recently wrote on her blog. “But I visited – and each time I did, I learned a little more about the history of this place and it’s significance to the people who lived – and continue to live – here… As a storyteller, I have fused some of my childhood memories together with some of the history I discovered in my research and the result is a story – which has become rather a signature story for me. But it’s never been told in the actual site of the story – until now.”

All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
