Event offers opportunity to paddle upper St. Croix River and hike North Country Trail

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of both the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act and the National Trails Act with a 5-mile round-trip down the river and back up the hiking trail.

Celebrate North Country Trail Day, National Public Lands Day, and the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System Act and the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, all in one event!

We’ll paddle from Gordon Dam County Park to the Scott Rapids Campsite, then hike back to the start on the NCT for a potluck picnic. Distance, 2.5 miles paddling and 2.5 miles hiking.

Canoes, paddles, and life jackets furnished. Bring a dish to share if you’re staying for the potluck. The hike will be led by Peter Nordgren. Contact: bsc@northcountrytrail.org or 715-292-3484.
