Join us at The Gallery to hear Craig Blacklock discuss the St. Croix & Namekagon Rivers captured in The Enduring Gift.

Journey down these incredible rivers through Craig’s award-winning photography videos set to music by Peter Mayer. Craig will have pre-signed copies of the book at the event, and be happy to personalize them.

We have long admired Craig’s work and are thrilled he chose to capture the spirit of the St. Croix, the National Park in our own backyard.

Northwest Passage is a residential center for youth with emotional and behavioral disorders, based in northwestern Wisconsin. Its In a New Light program helps young people heal through nature photography, and started on the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers.

Spread from ‘The Enduring Gift’ featuring In a New Light participant text.

The Enduring Gift has a significant connection to In a New Light, as page 79 features quotes and poems from participants.

The river is full of energy,
full of life in a constant flow.
I feel like my life is just like the river
I have all this energy, and my life is now just beginning for the first time.

    Former Lakeshore Resident

The In a New Light Gallery, located in Webster Wisconsin, is the physical manifestation of the hope and healing experiences of art and nature. The first of it’s kind, the In a New Light Gallery showcases the artwork of Northwest Passage’s clients who are learning for the first time to navigate their lives based on the talents they hold, instead of the perceptions of weakness thrust upon them by societal norms.

Opened in May of 2013, the In a New Light Gallery serves as a bridge to our community – a public testament to the truly astonishing talents of children and teens who are too often marginalized with the stigma associated with his or her mental illness. The goal of the space is to create conversation, to spread that tiny seed of insight that may one day change our culture.
