The temperature should be a lot warmer for the second St. Croix 360/Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy guided hike than it was during the first one, which was held on the breezy morning of February 15th. Even on that brisk day, about 20 folks had a great time exploring history and nature along the St. Croix River.

This hike will be about a mile around the Buffalo Skull property. Standing Cedars president Steve Rassler will lead the way again, sharing information about managing the land (“to burn, or not to burn? – that is the question”), the relationship between butterflies and lupines, and spring wildflowers, while we admire the St. Croix River from the bluffs.

Plan to dress appropriately, including good walking shoes. And be warned: ticks will be present.
