The St. Croix River Association is pleased to announce the launch of its Water Resources Forum series. The purpose of the Water Resources Forum is to expose interested members and the public at large to existing and emerging issues that impact the St. Croix Watershed. A guest speaker will be invited to kick-off each
event, which will be followed by discussion.

The first forum will take place on November 13 at 9 a.m. at the St. Croix River Association’s office in St. Croix Falls. Jim Miller, a former SCRA Stewardship Award winner, will talk about his organization’s efforts to reduce phosphorous in Deer Lake, Wisconsin. Jim founded and now co-chairs the Deer Lake Conservancy, which buys land and/or easements to better manage runoff and improve water quality in Deer Lake. The Conservancy efforts have helped to significantly reduce phosphorous levels, and he will discuss how their measures relate to the challenges that we face in the St. Croix Basin.

The offices of the St. Croix River Association are at 230 S. Washington St., Croix Falls, WI.

Subsequent forums will continue to be held at the SCRA office in St. Croix Falls on a quarterly basis with new speakers and a different set of break-out sessions occurring at each.

A free-will donation will be requested to cover the cost of food and refreshments.
