The St. Croix River Association 2013 paddle will get underway next Saturday, May 18th as 75 paddlers catch a shuttle from Danbury, Wis. up the Namekagon to Cable. We’ll get our boats wet the next day, as we start the first leg of the six-day trip.

Follow St. Croix 360 for updates from the river. I’ll be paddling the whole thing, and sharing photos and updates as often as possible, considering internet access, power, and time. Check St. Croix 360’s homepage for those daily updates.

There should be a lot to share. Not only will we paddle up to 20 miles per day, taking in the beautiful scenery of that wild and scenic river, there will be community events along the way, presentations at night around the campfire, and education stops along the river each day. We’ll learn about the wildlife, history and people of the river.

While we get our gear sorted, here’s a video posted recently of a float down the river.
