Be Moved by the St. Croix RiverThere are 160 miles of the St. Croix River. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the St. Croix River Association is planning to travel the whole river in July. The public is invited to join the trip for the whole thing, or just a day.

The trip is being billed as having something for everyone:

Novice or expert, moved by paddle or motor, this is the year to make a date with the wild and scenic St. Croix.

Join us July 5-22 for the whole experience or pick a day or two that suits your style.

The journey begins at Solon Springs, Wisconsin, and area of pristine natural beauty. It traverses eleven counties in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Sections of the St. Croix are very wild and remote, where nature rules. Other sections are more tame where families can enjoy a leisurely outing. The trip ends at Prescott, Wisconsin, the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers.

Communities will welcome paddlers along the way with local celebrations and events. As you move downstream, you’ll learn more about this river’s unique natural, cultural, and historic resources, and yourself. Learn more »
